VAPZ tax optimization 2023

2 min read

This article applies to clients for whom Life Experts manages the Free Supplementary Pension for the Self-Employed") (or VAPZ) in 2023. These clients will receive a message from us at the end of February 2023 to provide us with information.

Why check your VAPZ?

We want to check whether your Free Supplementary Pension for the Self-Employed (VAPZ) contract, managed by Life Experts, is still optimal in relation to the new tax maximums for 2023. It could indeed be that you can save more. This would of course give you more tax advantage and a higher capital at the end. You definitely do not want to miss out on that. It is also possible that your premium needs to decrease slightly. Otherwise you would pay too much premium and would not be able to deduct it for tax purposes. That is of course not the intention.

Life Experts does what is needed for you, but we need your input.

Your premium for 2023 needs to be adjusted to the "reference income", which we can easily find on your social security contributions invoice.

What will Life Experts do for you?

At Life Experts, we calculate the optimal premium and make you a proposal to adjust your VAPZ contract. For clients who have a company, we will also examine the connection with any savings contracts taken out through the company, also known as IPTs (an individual pension commitment funded by your company) or Individual Pension Commitments.

What if you receive or received a questionnaire from the insurer?

If, during the course of 2023 or at any point in the future, you receive questions from your insurance company about your reference income, you do not need to answer these questions. Life Experts will, after all, contact you every year in February, analyze your situation, and give you tailor-made advice. If you have already filled in a questionnaire from your insurance company, that is not a problem. However, we would appreciate it if you still reply to the message you received from Life Experts about your VAPZ. Our experience has taught us that a double check can be useful.

We thank you for your cooperation. If you have any additional questions, you are always welcome to contact us.
