How to arrange your reimbursement of outpatient medical costs via AssurMed?

AssurMed is a service that helps patients to have their medical costs reimbursed faster and more efficiently. The service uses an automated system that forwards the necessary information directly from the care provider to the insurer.

This article concerns policyholders in a (collective) hospitalisation insurance in which outpatient costs are also reimbursed. These are, for example, pharmacy costs.

This concerns outpatient medical costs following a visit to a general practitioner, dentist or physiotherapist. These costs are covered within our dental insurance, outpatient care insurance and/or within our hospitalisation insurance (if they fall within the contractually provided pre- and post-hospitalisation period or if they concern costs linked to Serious Illnesses).

For someone who has a hospitalisation insurance, AssurMed can offer a number of advantages, such as:

You must activate AssurMed via your usual health platform such as, for example, Helena:

- Go to the Helena website - Click on “log in” and identify yourself via Itsme/ eID or a card reader - Go to “reimbursements”, click on “activate reimbursements” and set your insurance company
